Hotelympia Features 4 New Shows in 2018

Hotelympia, the exhibition for the hospitality, food and service industry, has announced the addition of four shows to run under one roof in 2018. The move is part of a strategy to give the trade exhibition for the hospitality industry a fresh new identity.

The events are run by a new organising team at Fresh Montgomery, who took upon a mission to reinvigorate the hospitality event in October this year. “In modernising its approach, a revitalised Hotelympia will reaffirm its position as the industry’s must-attend showcase event for every hospitality business,” the organiser said.

The four new shows in the Hotelympia portfolio are:

  • The Professional Kitchen Show
  • The Foodservice Show incorporating Café Commerce
  • Hospitality Tech Show
  • Interiors and Tableware Show

Scheduled on 5-8 March at ExCeL London, these events will be a specialist in their own fields promising the very latest innovations and benefitting from Hotelympia’s heritage; the hospitality exhibition attracts 25,000+ visitors.

The Professional Kitchen Show at Hotelympia is set to offer next year’s very first and most comprehensive view of everything new in catering equipment and kitchen design. The event is said to have over 150 dedicated exhibitors on the show floor.

Hotelympia has a proud tradition of giving buyers, chefs, distributors and consultants the most comprehensive overview of the latest innovations in catering equipment. In 2018, this offer is strengthened by giving the sector its own clear identity and space in which to do business,” the company said.

The Professional Kitchen Show is bolstered by the backing of The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA), The Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA) distributor purchasing group, Cedabond and The Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), each representing key manufacturing and wholesale groups within the industry.

The show will be further strengthened by the presence of over a dozen of the UK’s most exciting chefs, offering up interactive cooking demos on The Staff Canteen Live, an inspiring and interactive live chef stage, featuring the hospitality industry’s biggest names.

Mark Morris, MD of Staff Canteen Live, has confirmed the participation of Dan Doherty, executive chef at 24-hour restaurant Duck and Waffle and Michelin star chef Paul Ainsworth, of Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 in Padstow. Hotelympia said the full line up will be announced soon.

“In past years we’ve treated Hotelympia visitors to up-close-and-personal encounters with some of the biggest names in cooking. This time around we’ll be introducing audiences to yet more chefs at the vanguard of the business, including Dan and Paul, whose reputations really do precede them. Supply focus

The newly created Interiors and Tableware Show at Hotelympia will offer show visitors an array of innovative suppliers and experiential features backed by specially-commissioned insight.

Companies responsible for some of the globe’s most awe-inspiring hospitality spaces – pioneering design houses and interior specialists – are signed up to exhibit, showcasing exactly what it takes to make a site stand-out and elevate front-of-house operations to new levels.

What’s more, a series of unique design installations will make up an integral part of the show floor – giving visitors a tantalising first look at the latest, consumer-led design trends.

Hotelympia has partnered with SquareMeal, the independent restaurant guide, to bring a unique experiential installation to the show, helping to highlight 2018’s emerging consumer trends and influence key buying decisions.

The show team has been in conversation with the industry to launch a survey that delves into the minds of modern diners, helping to uncover what constitutes The Ultimate Dining Experience.

From lighting preferences, furniture and tableware, right through to music, menu style, uniforms and technology, the survey has left no stone unturned. Not only will show visitors be able to claim their free copy of the report at the show, Hotelympia is working with property-based design, project management and development company, LXA (Wagamama, BXR Gym, Grand Hyatt) to bring the results to life in a standalone feature.

Food and drink show

In recent years the UK has rightly earned its place at the top table of global food and drink, and The Foodservice Show will celebrate the dynamism, diversity and depth of innovation within this market.

Key suppliers will join artisan start-ups in what promises to be a festival of food and drink product launches.

The organiser explained: “Opportunity knocks for non-traditional players to take a share and The Foodservice Show will include a very special Café Commerce section, flooded with innovative coffee-focused suppliers with the keys to helping unlock this highly profitable market.”

Hotelympia has a long history of welcoming and nurturing the next generation and this will continue in earnest through Salon Culinaire, which returns to the fold as part of The Foodservice Show.

Cutting-edge tech

The Hospitality Tech Show will champion the brightest and best new products and solutions emerging from global hospitality tech players, alongside some exciting entrepreneurial smaller businesses.

In recognition of the growth in importance of technology, a very special Hospitality Tech Innovation Theatre will be at the heart of proceedings.

Through a number of insightful seminars, panel discussions and talks around key issues including marketing, social media, cybersecurity, payment and booking systems, apps and data-driven software. The Innovation Theatre will demonstrate Hotelympia 2018 as a thought leader around the most pressing technological issues and challenges.
